Propylene Glycol Methyl Ether Acetate (PMA) is also known as PGMEA and 1-methoxy-2-propanol Acetate. PMA is family to the P-type glycol ethers, commonly used in cleaners, ink and coatings. Moreover, Propylene Glycol Methyl Ether Acetate is also utilised as a solvent in the semiconductor field, chiefly for applying surface adherents like Bis(trimethylsilyl)amine (HMDS) on silicon wafers. Airborne, the solvent is copious. Because of this, it is a molecular contaminate (AMC) in semiconductor cleanrooms.
