White spirit (WS) is also known as Mineral Spirit, Mineral Turpentine, Turpentine substitute and Petroleum Spirit. White Spirit is a non-coloured, transparent liquid, and it is mostly used in natural paint solvents. It is derived from petroleum. WS knows different terms for specific mineral spirits; examples are Solvent Naphtha and Stoddard. Often Petroleum Spirits are used (as a component) to thinner paint, but this could be broader.
