Monoethanolamine is also known as 2-aminoethanol, Ethanolamine, ETA or MEA. ETA comes in a liquid but sticky form and is free from colour. However, it is not free from odour, as the smell is similar to ammonia. The compound is organic and chemical, and the molecular formula is HOCH2CH2NH2 (C2H7NO). Moreover, the compound has multiple functionalities as it contains both a primary amine and a primary alcohol.
