Cyclohexane has the formula C6H12 and is a cycloalkane. Cyclohexane is a nonpolar liquid free from colour, but flammable. The smell is similar to detergent and very distinctive, as it is also used in some cleaning products; the scent is reminiscent of that. The primary use for the product is the industrial manufacturing of caprolactam and adipic acid. These products are harbingers to nylon.
