Toluene, or Toluol (IUPAC name: methylbenzene), is a fragrant hydrocarbon liquid free from colour. The aroma resembles that of paint thinners. The liquid is water-insoluble and is a derivative mono-alternate benzene. A methyl group connect a phenyl group creating the molecule formula: CH₃. Toluol is mostly used as a solvent in the industrial feedstock.
