Trichloroethylene (TCE) is a synthetic compound and is primarily used as an industrial solvent. Its molecular formula is C2HCI3, and the compound is a halocarbon. TCE is a liquid with a sweet odour and is not combustible. Regularly, TCE is being confused as 1,1,1-trichloroethane (chloroethene). However, they are not the same.
