Butyl Acetate (BUTAC), also known as n-Butyl Acetate, is an ester which is a colorless flammable liquid at room temperature. Normal Butyl Acetate is found in many types of fruit, where along with other chemicals it imparts characteristic flavors and has a sweet smell of banana or apple. It is mainly used as a solvent in the production of paint, ink and lacquers.

It is a clear, colourless liquid with a typical odor and sparingly soluble in water. Butyl Glycol Acetate can be used in a wide range of industries. The most common application is in the paint, coating and ink industry, where it will be used to improve the gloss and fluidity of coatings.

Ethyl Acetate (ETAC), also known as Ethyl Ethanoate, is an organic compound with formula C4H8O2. It is a clear, colourless liquid with a typical odor and sparingly soluble in water. This colorless liquid has a characteristic sweet smell and is used primarily as a solvent and diluent for the production of glues, coatings and removers of paint and nail polishes.

Methyl Acetate (also known as MeOAc, Acetic Acid Methyl Ester or Methyl Ethanoate), is a carboxylate ester with the formula C3H6O2. It is a flammable liquid with a characteristically smell like some glues and nail polish removers. It is mainly used as a solvent, and quite similar to Ethyl Acetate, but is a more common solvent being less toxic and less soluble in water.
